Just bought a PS3

Well I found a new Dell coupon for 15% off (not 20%, but good enough) so I went ahead and ordered the 160GB PS3 Drakes Fortune bundle.

I was debating between the 80GB and the 160GB but figured I better go with the bigger HD and the game for the $85 difference in price after the coupon.

I did research and saw that neither the 80 nor the 160gb will play the ps2 games anymore :( So I will have to keep my PS2 around just for God of War 1 and 2.

Recommend me some good games!! Might wait till after Christmas to get any more, but it gives you time to give me some good suggestions :partyman:

Mike

Hope I didnt screw up by buying one now - was thinking they might lower the price again next year, but went ahead and bit the bullet anyway - preparing for God of War III.

On the bright side - I should have another folding machine

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was amazing! And there's a sequal to it on the way so you may as well play it now. Really that and MGS4 are the only two major games for the system. MGS4 ended up being more of a movie than a game really. I think Bioshock is on PS3 now. If you haven't played that yet it's a must play and one of the best games I've ever played. Easily in my Top 10.

I didnt like the story, I was bored with the gameplay also- I didnt like the special abilitys either. I think it was beacuse it was a "fantasy" FPS. FPS I like are. COD4, COD:WOW, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142. Though I did really like Half-life 2 also. you are the first person i have heard that liked Bio-shock.. but to each his own i guess.

Ratchet and Clank was a good (rental) PS3 game also... pretty fun once you start getting some crazy weapons, if you like platformers.

My brother has been playing Assasigns Creed a lot lately.. he likes it, i found it repetitive and lost interest in it pretty quickly.

GT5 Prologue, NFS Undercover (lag issues, beware), Burnout Paradise or w/e the latest is, Midnight Club LA. Yes I know, I like to play driving games.

You're gonna play FPS games on PC right?

Isnt this the one that you have to make your own levels to play the game?

Not many since they make me sick :( Have been playing that Dead Space that my buddy left here last time he was over adn I seem to be able to play that one ok on the 50" plasma sitting about 16feet away using an xbox360 controller for windows..argh...almost seems like the closer I ma to the screen, the worse it is for me.

I am enjoying the Drake game so far - a LOT of cut scenes though! I still dont get the run with this stick, hold this button to bring up your gun, move this stick to aim, then click this other button to shoot thing! It is SO easy for me to aim to fast and zip right by the target, so I have to slow down moving the aim stick, then i tend to get hit a lot more ;)

Mike

Ratchet seems like a cool game as I do like platformers to a certain extent!

I also like games like that Drakes Fortune and God of War!! Any like these available for the PS3?

You can make your own levels, but there are already a ton of developer created levels to play, and you can log onto the PS network to download levels made by other players.

assassins creed is hands down the most immersive game engine I have ever played, but the gameplay is quite repetive as most people have noticed.

Reisistance 2 is a very good shooter, comparable to gears of war in both the style and plot

I get pretty into NCAA football 09 online dynasty, but I know that's not for everyone

So far I have these games...

NCAA Football 08 - knew a guy who had it so we could play online, plus it was $12.99 used :)
Call of Duty - World at War - never played yet
Star Wars Force Unleashed - never played yet
Tom Calncys Endwar with bluetooth headset - only got it because it was on sale for $49.99 with the bluetooth headset.

I will NOT pay $60 for ANY game other than God of War III of course :finga:

Little big panet seems cool, but they have to run it on sale for my cheap ass, same with ratchet and clank. I am thinking of grabbing Assassins Creed since I can get it for around $20 and also was thinking of MotorStorm since it was $10 used.

What page? Will this work on the 160gb?

Thanx for the ongoing suggestions and help!!

Mike

Oh - Playstation Home SUX!! OMG is SUX! Too many moronic kids thinking that swearing and acting badass through a network makes them look cool - It is REALLY irritating!

I wasn't a huge fan of it either. There was no variation in enemies. Big Daddies and crazy people with either guns or knives.

I cant say I own a PS3 YET (opted for the 360) but when I owned the PS2, The Metal Gear Solid games never disapointed. COD WAW for the 360 is very good so I cant imagine it being too bad for the PS3. Then I almost bought a PS3 after seeing the Resistance 2 previews so thats probably an option, lol.
