Is anyone aware of programs that test memory quality?

Post by demis1 »

I bought two compact flash devices and I seem to have some problems with files disappearing all of a sudden. I am wondering there is a problem with my card reader?

Thanks for any suggestions

i assume you leave the card in the reader while this happens? (you never know)

the only time i've had files disappear off mediums(such as CDs DVDs etc.) was when one of my drives went bad and could not read the disks, the files were there, just not recognized by the drive

can you use the cards in another reader, or in a camera to make sure the files are actually there and the reader just isnt seeing them?

your options as far as problems to check:
-software is messed up on the reader- reinstall any drivers for the card reader
-card is dieing- try it in another device
-reader is dieing- try the card in another device
-file corruption the card- probably have to reformat the card or deal with the specific missing files unless it happens again
-random occurance- nothing you can do
