Are my RAM timings all correct? DDR3-1600/PC3-12800

Post by klepper »

I am wondering if my RAM timings are all right. I have a X58 board (AsRock Extreme) six DDR3 slots, all populated with 2GB dimms.

Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR3 1600MHz SDRAM Non-ECC 240-pin (KHX1600C9D3K2/4GX) DDR3-1600/PC3-12800

I popped out 6GB of 1333 ram (all on auto) and put in this 12GB of ram, all settings are untouched, all on auto. Seems like some numbers are conflicting.

Thoughts? What do I need to change?

Speed - 1600MHz
Latency - CAS 9
Timings - 9-9-9-27
Voltage - 1.7 – 1.9

'auto' sets DDR3 RAM to either 1066 or 1333MHz depending on the board to ensure that there are no problems on first boot with any kit frequency, for compatibility. you have to manually set it to DDR3 1600, the timings should auto to the right set once you get it at 1600MHz

Done, thanks! Those CPU-id numbers were throwing me off. now I moved from 7.4 to 7.8 in windows performance numbers.

Cheers!
