Can anyone suggest a good reason to not just get a few TB (Kingston makes them, and they aren't cheap) Flash drives to make all my backup EXTREMELY portable?

The only thing I would say is to still have a proper external drive. Flash drives are easy enough to drown or drop or even loose all together.

Price for one, but if that isn't an issue for you, I want your disposable income. A TB flash drive is over $1,000, and you want a few of them...

Other than SanDisk and Corsair, I've not had the best of luck with USB jump drives. Some just go bad randomly and it's rare to retrieve the data from them.
