Low cost mobo for AMD 6000+ 3.0ghz/8800 GTX

Post by semper76 »

Looking for a low cost, but efficient, mobo to work with the CPU and GPU in the subject line. I will not be using SLI, so I have counted that out.

Is there any problem with the ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP being used as the mobo?

At this time, I am trying to get an idea for what a stock system would run versus an OC system.

Thanks!

Even although you don't plan on SLI, it is always worth having as an option later on. To be honest for a high end CPU and high end Video Card, i recommend you get a high end Motherboard. Something like an Asus M2N32SLI Deluxe or the Asus Crosshair would be perfect for such a CPU and Video Card.

It may also be worth considering a lower priced CPU for a higher priced motherboard with good overclocking features, then overclock the CPU to get similar performance to the x2 6000. Just a thought.
