overclocking problem

Post by hercules71185 »

Hey on my old mother board I was able to go into the bios and change the cpu for overclocking.. I got a new board and it won't allow me to change the settings now and I'm basically stuck using ntune.. The only problem is with ntune it overclocks my ram.. I have ddr2 800 but, its not the best ram for overclocking reguardless if I set it at ddr2 533 or not. It still freezes. I'd like to know if there is a way to stop my bios from going into "safe mode" and letting me overclock it

I figured it out.. For anyone out there who gets the error message.. "please re-setting CPU frequency in cmos" And you are overclocking, and know its not the battery on your mobo causing this. Lower your hyperthreading multiplier and your ram and it should work. I'm just did this on a amd 3600 brisbane (built a system for someone else) and overclocked it to 2.4 on air. My 3600 in my computer is up to 2.8 on water and still doesn't get to hot and runs flawlessly. Great cpu for a budget gamer
