No video, no post, long continuous beep.... What the??

Post by mjc928 »

Ok so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but here it goes. I just built my new system and nothing happens except a long beep (more like shriek). I've reseeded everything, check my cmos battery, checked for jumpers and I'm totally stumped. At first I thought it was my cpu fan not having enough thermal paste so I completely cleaned and applied new paste. Here are my system specs:
Asus hd6970
crosshair extreme mobo
phenom 1100t
corsair dominator 8gb (2x4gb)
thermaltake tr2 rx 1200w psu
wd caviar black 1tb
asus dvd-rom/writer
in win dragon rider full tower
So any ideas on what it could be?
Thanks

I'd be curious to see if one of your sticks of RAM might be bad. Try one at a time, and in different slots as well. If one of them is causing the computer to fail POST then you should get them sent back for replacement.
Cyberpower generic case
B450M PRO-VDH MAX
Ryzen 5 3600 w/PBO/OC
CM Hyper 212 EVO push/pull
Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3600 CL16
MSI RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 3X 8G OC LHR
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB
6GB Seagate HDD
EVGA 650BQ 650W PSU
ASUS VE278 27" monitor, Dell E2216HV (vertical)
Logitech Z533 2.1 Speakers, G935 7.1 or G435 headset
MS LXM-00001 keyboard
Razer Deathadder Elite, XBOX One Lunar Shift controller

I've come a long way from my original Core2Duo E6750 build y'all! :supz:

I feel kinda silly. I forgot that the newer vid cards require both the 4pin and 6pin power connections to need to be plugged in at the same time ](*,) Everything is working great now! Thanks!
