thinking of updating to allow for DDR3 ram.
P.S. will upgrading my MOBO and ram cause me a problem with my OS?

Re: new MOBO
You might have problems with the OS due to hardware changes.
To be on the safe side, uninstall any add-on drivers you've installed for things like the onboard network card and chip set etc. before swapping over.
Even if both boards have say Realtek audio or LAN, the versions can be slightly different.
This can lead to some random and hard to diagnose bugs later on.
I always use hardware changes as an oppertunity to do a clean install, this is not only the safer option; but also keeps things running the way they should.
I've gotten away with not reinstalling in the past, but I've also had situations where the whole process took 3x times longer than it should have because I tried the shortcut.

Re: new MOBO
Shouldn't be a problem. The board should just run them at a lower speed.
Re: new MOBO
cool thanks....one day I would love to visit Ireland and have a "real" beer. I brew my own but I bet its not the same as what I would get in a real Irish pub.

Most places sell Carlsberg, Heineken & Bud ohh and there's always the Guinness.
We have a few good bars which stock some nice beers, but it's England you need to go to for some nice real beers and ales.
We have nice Whiskey though
Ireland is great but if you ever do come, spend 90% of your time outside Dublin. The west coast from Donegal in the north to Kerry down south is breathtaking.

Re: new MOBO
So they actually sell Bud in Ireland?? say it aint so!!
Back to computers. So to upgrade this MOBO i use driver sweeper to erase the chipset and other drivers then shut it down install and thats it? Or are there a few things I should do first??
