D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
I see now that is says 1066 fsb instead of 1333..? I'm wondering if this could be a problem with my Intel core 2 duo E6850 3.00ghz. It says in my bios that it's 1333 with that cpu. But if my D975BX2 only runs at 1066 and can not go up tp 1333 could there be a problem. Sorry if this does not make any sense. Thank you for any info on this.

Are you saying that you have E6850 working with this board?

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
Yes I do and it works ok so far, I did fined at intel web site under the D975bx2 cpu system info or somewhere that this cpu was tested and did work with this motherboard before I bought that cpu, but it does work ok, I'm playing FSX full out and Silent Hunter 4 full out and it works ok. The problem I have is the corsair 800 ram and the voltage, I did what Corsair said to do but it would not go past post and run up windows. So I'm going to get what intel tested with this board and buy Kingston 800 that runs at 1.8 to 1.9 volts, I think that would run right with my motherboard, I hope. I was wondering if the problem with Corsair was the timing between my E6850 and there ram, not sure. Hope I make alittle sence, sorry if I do not.

Great, I am out to get one.
Save your $$ on the Kingston, this is what memory I have and it works perfectly, however, it is not an overclocker... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231098

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
I was able to get the D975XBX2 working with the E6850. I have a Revision 504 board, and I used the latest BIOS (2792.) I had to manually override several BIOS settings:
1) Reference-frequency from 'auto' to 266
2) Memory-frequency from 'auto' to 533
3) CPU-frequency from 'auto' to 333
The first two items lock the FSB/RAM ratio to 1:1. (So at the correct FSB of 333MHz, your RAM will run at DDR2-667 speed.)
Setting ref-freq to 333 would be the intuitive, correct setting. Unfortunately, for me, the system won't POST with 4 DIMMs, so that's why I used 266/533. I don't have any DDR2-800 DIMMs, so I couldn't test DDR2-800 speeds.
The third item should be self-explanatory. Note, if you leave this on 'auto', then the BIOS will simply default to the reference-freq (266), and your E6850 will run at 2.4GHz instead of 3.0GHz. At least that's what happened to me.

Thnaks for the info ecc8gb , I'm going to check my bios again and try those settings, everything is working ok now but I would like to run at 3.00ghz if it's not. Thanks again.
My Memory Frequency reads 667mhz
processor speed = 3.00 ghz
system bus speed = 1332 mhz

I am back from the store with an E6850, and it does not work for me. I have revision 507 board with latest bios. CPU is not recognized, I cannot get to BIOS, just blcak screen. Any suggestions?

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
Hi vddobrev, it should work, just wondering, when I first put my board together I got a black screen and tried and tried to get it to work, then I thought that just maybe my monitor was in Analog instead of Digital for what ever reason.....and yep, I put it back to digital and got my picture back to the screen. Are you digital..? I'II do a search around the web and see what I can fined on why this is not working.
Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
Yes, digital. I have not switched the input. I have 4 sticks of ram, may be I should try with just one or two? I can't think of anything else. The screen was black, and all the fans were spinning at 100%.

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
That sounds like me when I was trying to get that corsair 800 to work at 2.4 volts. Do you have any over clocking going on in you motherboard...? Also do you have any 667 ram laying around that you could try with that E6850. Could be a timing problem maybe. When I could not get into the bios with the corsair ram, I used the bios config jumper pins on the motherboard. But with me the Recovery (no Jumper) did not work but instead the 1-2 jumper in (normal config) did get me into the bios at startup to see what was going on. Then I changed back to my normal setting in the bios to get it back to post. ! this should work for you.
Just thought of another thing.....I have the Nvidia 7950GT video card with 163.17 driver from Nvidia, wondows xp likes those drivers in DX9c. Not sure if that matters in this case though. Have you over clocked your video card.

No overclock. I don't have 667 RAM. I cannot get in the BIOS, even if I set the jumper to setup. I am giving up and returning the E6850.

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
I know this thread is a bit old, but i will add what i know anyway.
It seems that you must put the settings in first. Either by putting the old cpu in with the 800mhz ram, or with the new cpu and slower ram.
I have had the exact same problem, After swapping out the CPU 6-7 times, it works. But if you put the setting back to their original after you get it working, you dont get a post screen and have to do it all over again. This happend to me, so i tried i with slower ram (a lot easier than swapping out a CPU, especially one where you have to remove the motherboard from the case to access nuts holding the heatsink on).
Im sorry that you had to return your E6850, for an entire day i know how you felt.
