is my mobo dead?? :(

Post by palisimo »

I have a DP35DP that was fine until this morning, I moved it to a new case, and now I cant get it to boot.
When all the cables (except the SATA) are plugged in, as soon as I plug the power cable, the PC powers on, stay that way fow a few seconds, the it shuts down, after some seconds it powers back on and it keeps repeting this cycle. i dont get anything onthe screen, and no beeps either.

Whe I remove the 2x2 12v power cable from the mobo, it doesnt start after the power cable is plugged, it only starts when I press the ON button, it doest shuts down or reboot, the CPU fan works, no beeps, but nothing comes in the display.

I already tried recover the BIOS, remove the little battery, and try to boot with only tested video carb and RAM, I also tried another power surce that works fine onother PC. Even with no SATA devices, I should be able to enter the BIOS right?

I my MOBO dead?? Is there anything else I can try to fix this??

PLEASE HELP!

Check if the stand-offs that attaches your motherboard to the chassis are all put in correctly/securely to the mounting holes. It could be the reason why your system is not starting up properly because it could be shorting out your mobo.

" Standoffs must NEVER be inserted into any of the "extra" holes, however. Standoffs installed in holes on the case that don't have corresponding holes in the motherboard can cause the motherboard to short out.

Finally, don't over-tighten the standoffs. Hand-tight plus a smidgen is enough. Most cases are made of thin metal that can strip if you over-tighten the standoffs."
