Who knows IRQs HELP!!!

Post by [email protected] »

I have a problem with my PCIex16 NVIDIA graphics card and PCI audio card sharing the same IRQ.(16) Unless the graphics are completely still the audio distorts. I've done lots of tests and I know this is the problem i.e. Audio works fine if the screen has no movement. I'm planning to switch to a firewire PCIex1 card and interface. Will this also be on IRQ 16 because its in the PCI bus? Are all the PCIe & PCI slots on IRQ 16 or is the card itself (or driver) that determinds the IRQ. I cannot change IRQ in Vista or in my bios. Screwed???

Changing IRQ's went way of the dinosaur with ISA slots. Have you tried updating all the drivers? moving the card to a different slot?
