Hello all ...
It has been several years since I did a hand build on a server. (Not since Server 2K)
This week I discovered that Intel no longer provides drivers for Windows Server on their desktop boards.
I did figure out that several of the Windows 7 drivers will work. (at least on the board I tried) ...
But it really isn't very comforting to know that it's "rigged" for server use in a customer's place of business.
Have any of you run into this and found a way to obtain relialbe drivers?
P.S. When I informed the customer of what I was having to do, we made the decision to order a server platform instead.
Win Server 2008 & Intel desktop boards
Re: Win Server 2008 & Intel desktop boards
I just research boards till I found one that had drivers for it. I found a couple ASUS boards the last time I built a system. They were nothing super high end, was for running Server 2008 for a security camera backend for recording.
