Macbook Core duo vs macbook core 2 duo

Post by wildlaser »

A friend has a few year old Macbook with a 1.83 core duo... how does that compare to a 2ghz core 2 duo??? I have searched for benchmarks but not sure what program is best to use, or what source to trust on the matter, so figured I'd ask here. I know, search feature.... but can anyone break it down simply?

core duo cpus are worse the Core 2 Duo CPUs, and it also depends on which version/model of the Core 2 Duo. Clock Speed isn't everything anymore.

Thanks.

Well, that's what I was getting at. Was wondering if the macbooks processor was superior to what Dell was using. However, would have to find out which exact chip is in each laptop, both years old.
