Can anyone explain in plain words what does Intel® Virtualization Technology means and what are it's benefits in real world applications if any? I have reaad the wikipedia article but I can't understand - too technical for me. Should I enable it in BIOS of my laptop (the T9500 is capable of it) or not?

As simple as I can get it - new instructions for virtual computing using programs like vmware, virtual pc, etc. It will hurt nothing to leave it on as it does not effect performance from what I have seen.

Basically, if it was on, let it on. If it was off and you wont run virtualization programs, let it off.

My opinion, hopefully someone else will chime in to make sure as I do not use vmware much at all.

Knight is correct, it is pretty much only for if you are running a virtual machine (virtual box, vmware etc.) if you don't plan to have a VM I would just leave it off (Myself I have 4 different virtual OS's on my work laptop to stay familiar with them; at Help Desk)
