i5 3570k!

so as you guys know I have a 3570k running at 4.2ghz @ 1.19 vcore LLC level 5 giving me 1.13 vcore at 100%. However, I have to put 1.25 volts to get 4.3 stable with LLC level 1. For every 100mhz I increase I have to add an additional 0.075 volts. is this right?

Sounds about right - there are deminishing returns after a certain point and you need to add more and more voltage - eventually you reach a point when temps are an issue

I haven't overclocked since core2duo was first released, but try setting the LLC to auto

Also see this table from Anandtech - Results from their attempts, from a Gigabyte motherboard review
They had to push 1.35v for 4.3Ghz

thanks kenc51. I do however have another question regarding my cpu physics score in 3dmark 11. my physics score is at 7400 at 4.2 but 90% of others at the same clock are getting 8200+? what could be causing this?

Do they have the same GFX card? As with cuda etc. the card takes a lot of that load too. An extra ~ 1000 points is a lot though.
I'd run & compare other benchmarks to test each component; cpu, memory & hdd. This way you can identify the culprit.

I used the advanced result search of furturemark to select 3570k and gtx 570. Many on there have similar gpu score but many with 3.8ghz or higher cpu have higher physics score than me :( test all my hardware separate and it seems to be on par with others but when tested all together a get this low physics score.

They are probably using registry & memory tweaks, a quick Google search brings up some forum threads. I haven't read any of them, but I remember doing it back in the day and you can get a nice boost in points.

had a look around the net and nothing that I can see yet. I got my physics score up to 7500 now but still I guess I can just live with that :(
