Got this one from a trader on AT forums. He had to Malays with the "B" in the code, so I bought both. THe first did 240 Default vcore. THis one did 250 default vcore. I have not had time to really test it yet, but will do tha thtis week.

I am putting together a system but my budget isnt going to allow me to get a 2.6 maybe a 2.8 with the abit board.. Will be need some help from you guys to hopefully tinker with mine to get it a wee bit faster...

I need a new CPU for my IC7 v1.0 motherboard. I had a 2.4C but sold it because I did not want to push my system so hard to achieve a good overclock. Which CPU do you think would be the best for my system?
I'm looking at a 2.8C,2.8E and a 3.0C.

Well, the 2.8E is still a mystery. I would say it depends on your ram. 2.8 may get you to 250 fsb and you can run 1:1 with some good 3700-4000 ddr or 250fsb and a 5:4 divider.

3.0 would definitely be nice to if you can find a good one. Most only go to about 240 at max.

Either of those would be good.

Thanks PJ. I may wait for the 2.8E to drive down the price of the 2.8C before I purchase anything. Was the 2.8E you tested retail?

I believe the P4 prices are already set to where they will be for a while. They just dropped them on Monday for the release of the Prescotts. So I wouldn't wait on the price to drop again... that could be a while.

Awesome!

Oh... and I suppose the next time the prices will drop will be early april when the 775-pin Prescotts are released... maybe.
