wow thats awesome. I am trying to get up to speed on pc stuff as Ive been out of it for a very long time. Got deployed and know absolutely nothing about pc's now.. I am putting together a system but my budget isnt going to allow me to get a 2.6 maybe a 2.8 with the abit board.. Will be need some help from you guys to hopefully tinker with mine to get it a wee bit faster...
Welcome to the forums and ask away! I've got every ABIT board thats on the market and all the P4 "C"'s and EE's! Let me know if you need any tweaking help to get your rig up and flying!
I need a new CPU for my IC7 v1.0 motherboard. I had a 2.4C but sold it because I did not want to push my system so hard to achieve a good overclock. Which CPU do you think would be the best for my system?
I'm looking at a 2.8C,2.8E and a 3.0C.
Well, the 2.8E is still a mystery. I would say it depends on your ram. 2.8 may get you to 250 fsb and you can run 1:1 with some good 3700-4000 ddr or 250fsb and a 5:4 divider.
3.0 would definitely be nice to if you can find a good one. Most only go to about 240 at max.

I believe the P4 prices are already set to where they will be for a while. They just dropped them on Monday for the release of the Prescotts. So I wouldn't wait on the price to drop again... that could be a while.
