NVIDIA Tegra 650 Processor Announced - Ready To Battle x86 CPUs?

NVIDIA has just introduced the Tegra family of processors, the world's first single-chip computer capable of the rich high definition and internet experiences we've come to expect from our PCs, but on small pocket type devices. NVIDIA Tegra is a tiny computer-on-a-chip, smaller than a US dime, designed from the ground up to enable the "visual PC experience" on a new generation of mobile computing devices while consuming the smallest amount of power.

i hate watching video on ipod, screen is way to small. one of the reasons i have a zune (even though the screen on mine is cracked, not the zunes fault though, i abused it throughly (at least 3 drops per week from 5 feet up) and it lasted for a good year.
personally, i dont like the way things are going in the computer market. with intel getting in to gpu's, nvidia getting into procesors, i think they should just remain in there nich

I've had a few people e-mail me something along the lines of what this person sent me...
You stated in your article:

"The die size of the Tegra 650 and Tegra 600 is just 144mm2, which makes it ten times smaller than the Intel Atom!"

In point of fact, the Atom is 25mm2…

http://www.intel.com/technology/atom/index.htm
I didn't make that part of the article clear enough, so I am going to re-word it.

"The die size of the Tegra 650 and Tegra 600 is just 144mm2, which makes it ten times smaller than an Intel Atom platform that needs additional chipsets in order for it to operate."

Here is a slide from the NVIDIA press deck to better show how they get 10x smaller...

So the chip in the middle is the northbridge and the one on the right is the southbridge?
