Are NVIDIA 177.39 Forceware Drivers Cheating on 3DMark Vantage?
Ever since we published the article on the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ graphics cards last week Legit Reviews has been getting a ton of e-mail complaining about NVIDIA's paper launch spoiler and the fact that the drivers we used for are not fair. We talk with Futuremark and NVIDIA about the cheating claims and try to figure out if anything is being done that shouldn't be.

Very interesting read! Thanks for the info!

Agree ^^^ I'm just glad I don't have to waste money on something else (Ageia card) when I already have something that can do it (gfx card). Thanks for the update.

Exactly only this will cause and issue with those that have ATI/Havok, can games be made to equally support both well?

I'm all for anything that will speed up the games. One question though, when its doing physics processing can it also do gpu processing at the same time and if so is there a performance hit on the GPU processing?

I'm curious to see how the performance trade-off works out. Anybody come across any articles comparing games on the same GPU with physics processing enabled/disabled?

Tough to do that as only 3DMark06 and UT3 has PhysX support in the drivers... Upcoming game titles will all be supported, so it is too early to do benchmarks or write an article that is actually 'legit'. It would be interesting to see and I'm sure we will see the numbers in the months to come since over a dozen PhysX games will be out by Christmas.erikpurne wrote:I'm curious to see how the performance trade-off works out.
