E3 2008: Opening Day Coverage

Post by Apoptosis »

The 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit hosted by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) at the Los Angeles Convention Center July 15-17, 2008 has officially kicked off and Legit Reviews is there to bring you some show coverage. The 2008 E3 is an invitation-only event that offers you an inside view of the gaming industry, so read on as we show you what is going on at the event with this our initial coverage.

In the past hardware companies such as Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, Dell, and Logitech have participated, but with ESA’s downsizing of the event, such hardware manufacturers are missing and frankly it worries us. There has been a trend in gaming the past few years of PC hardware being put on the back burner with software publishers and a very strong migration toward consoles. Think about the major gaming releases of 2008 (Metal Gear Solid 4, Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Super Mario Galaxy) and we see none of them were developed for the PC platform.

I went to E3 one year, back in 2000 or 2001. It was fun. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of it this year.

Btw: Link in article isn't working (no direct link to this forum).

Well, we are here now, and lo and behold...we have a babe spotting!! Pictures to follow of course, but all is not lost!

Still, the vibe seems more like a "wake" than a "expo", but it's still early.
Just a little puppy trying to make it in a big digital world.

Lol, yeah, post some pix. When I went there were quite a few worth remembering.

Anyways, seeing how E3 has been on the verge of dieing off, let's hope they can keep it going this year.
