Re: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card Preview
I didn't touch on temperatures in this article as I don't think GPU-Z is reading the card 100% correctly. That temperaure is at idle and I included that slide there to show that. Just didn't want to make a big deal outof it till I can confirm all the temperatures. 72C isn't bad though and at full load it didn't get much hotter.skierkid450 wrote:nice budget card

Interesting definition of mainstream on the first page, any idea who came up with it?
It's kind of ironic that I'm turning my nose up at this card, yet it performs better than my current 7950GT!

Re: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card Preview
Interesting to see how much more the 9600GT gets over the 9500GT in F@H performance.
Still, this is a great deal for people who just need an all-around champ. Good read!
Oh, and not to hijack this at all, but how does a G92 8800GTS 512 do in F@H versus the 9600GT?

Unless the 9600GT has some secret folding performance aiding thing, I'm pretty sure that the faster GTS will win out. With 24/7 folding you will be looking at 5500-6000 ppd.stopthekilling77 wrote:Oh, and not to hijack this at all, but how does a G92 8800GTS 512 do in F@H versus the 9600GT?

Re: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card Preview
the one thing you want to look for in a card to get good folding performance is the number of stream processors. nothing else really matters

Hmm, I have a new build coming up. If the build is for my sister's comp, what would you guys pick? The Radeon 3650 or the 9500GT GDDR3? I'm interested in it's gaming performance and folding performance.
@Apop, can you post the overclocking results with the 9500GT?
