It is a shame that the economy is doing badly, but economies like that of America thrive off consumer spending and launching a product like this might be perfect to get people out and spend some money. You have to see it to fully understand how great gaming in 3D is, but I can honestly say that it is the best thing to happen in gaming in years. Hard to believe that PhysX technology came out three years ago and that not much has really happened since then. If you want a game changer this could be what you have been waiting for.

ehh maybe one day if get a new monitor ill go for it..if i didn't just get the one i have now , then I would've looked into getting this ..seems like a hot ticket though

I agree. Hopefully one of my "richer" friends will break down so I can see what it looks like or if they ever have it demoed in a store I would definitely check it out. I had a geforce 2 (i think it was) way back when and played Quake 3 in 3D. It was fun, though I never used it much because it hurt my eyes/head after 30 mins or so.

I'll bring this system to the next War Factory LAN party and let people try it out first hand if anyone local wants to take a look.

As for the eye strain... I usually play between 1-4 hours at a time when gaming online and it's fine, UNLESS it's a full sun day and I get the flickering... Other than that it's actually not bad. Being able to adjust the depth setting you can set it to your comfort level and I think that really helps the strain.

Nvidia should get some demo stations of this around everywhere, as it's one of those things you have to see.

The only thing I can really say is that it's too bad that you have to throw down $600 plus an nvida video card to use it. This may sound like a dumb question but I have no idea how the whole 3d thing works... Do you have to use that "3D" monitor or will any old monitor work in some capacity?

You have to have a 120hz display for the 3d.

Many LCD HDTVs can support “120 Hz” mode. These HDTVs are not supported by GeForce 3D Vision as they do not offer a 120 Hz refresh rate input over HDMI and only accept a 60 Hz input. GeForce 3D Vision requires LCDs that can accept a 120 Hz refresh rate input over dual-link DVI to provide flicker-free stereoscopic 3D gaming.

Wow, how could I miss something this cool? Can't wait till they are a bit more mainstream. As for being able to see what you see, there is a way to do it but it's not as simple as wearing a pair of glasses. You could make some type of two image stereoscope viewer or more simply, reverse the images, cross your eyes until the two images form a third and bingo, 3D(ish) image.

i think the 2nd page on one of the middle paragraphs describing the glasses, it says you can wear glasses due to the detachable nose-pieces that can lift the glasses away from your face..

the first DLP TV i looked up from that list is a 2007 model. I have a Sony Bravia DLP m#KDS-55A3000 that has 120hz display - I ordered just the glasses and am hoping I can get it to work on that also. they will be here today so I will find out tonight after work. I read one reveiw that said you need to run Vista - that seemed odd, but that will be the first problem as i am running XP Pro.

**well just popped over to the nvidia forums and saw that they dont have XP drivers for this. Seems stupid to me but it is what it is. guess that was $200 out the window- as CompUSA doesnt accept returns on this. hopefully i can sell it on ebay for the $200 I paid.. it looks like I have the only listing for them currently so i am praying..
