AMD DirectX11 White Paper Released

With Microsoft Windows 7 set to be released in October 2009, rumors are flying rampant in the video card industry as DirectX 11 graphics card will also be launching at the same time. Read on to see one of the first white papers on DirectX 11 released by AMD.

I can envision these super realistic environments in games, and then still having people look CGI.

Would look quite surreal.

The way things are done these days, porting to PC from console thus dumbing it down, we will not see the advantages of DX 11 for a very long time. Just take a look at the recent past. The best anyone has been able to do for DX 10 is Crysis. That was imo a good effort but it was still a long way off it's potential.

Also look at Ubisofts implementation then retraction of DX 10.1. Sorry to say but all this new tech is a non issue when it all comes down to money. That is the way it is going to be from now on.
