AeroCool Touch-2000 LCD Fan Controller Review

AeroCool has released a very stylish LCD touch screen fan controller and temperature monitor with some additional features thrown into the mix. We take a closer look at the Touch-2000 to see if its performance matches its elegance.

When the AeroCool Touch-2000 is installed, it is a thing of beauty. It's very modern and touch screens are all the rage these days and are showing up virtually everywhere. At $53.99 shipped, you can certainly find a cheaper fan controller but not one with an integrated temperature monitor, touch screen operation and the added bonus of audio jacks, eSATA and USB ports.

Interesting. So all the fan connectors are of the 3-pin variety, correct?

Very cool. I would love to get my hands on one of these. I don't think I could justify the price though. :vom:

Does this FC have an On/Off switch for the display? My Scythe does not and since it's in the same room I sleep I have to turn my PC off at night. People in the Green party may think that's a good thing but I find it's a PITA.

The backlight on the display itself can be turned off by hitting the AeroCool logo at the top. Although the display appears blank, the fan setting remains, and to turn it back on you just tap this same area.

Very good. This should be mandatory for all FCs. I couldn't use this FC anyway my dinky Antec 300 only has 3 5.25" expansion slots and 2 of the 3 are used for required hardware.

There is a smaller version in the Touch-1000 which takes up only 1 bay.

Certianlly seems more useful than my Sentry and you wouldn't have to mod the bracket for it to fit something behind it like I did.
