"With the 2010 edition of CES kicking off tomorrow, we headed to the Digital Experience press only event to get a preview of what will be on display this week. While we saw many things that caught our eye, nothing could top the live demo of NVIDIA's upcoming flagship. Is this their top-of-the-line model for this series or is this just a mid-range? The facebook post said it was just as fast as a 5870, so will the higher versions compete with, or possibly beat the 5970?

I don't see why NVIDIA won't continue the trend of launching dual-GPU boards like they have for years now. They just haven't announced it.

Unfortunately nVidia takes their sweet time with dual GPU boards, ATi throws them out (makes them available) right towards the beginning of their product launches for a new architecture.

All I can say is that I hope this forces a drop in prices for the ATI cards from retailers. They are raping the consumer because of the lack of availability right now.

A 1/3 jump in performance sounds very nice. Will they have the equivalent of Eyefinity functionality, where you can get 3 monitors working? I plan on using a 3 monitor system for games when I upgrade next (probably end of the year).

Pretty sure that's an ATI 'special feature', but I guess we'll have to see if nvidia has done anything like that.

If not, it's back to the old Matrox Video-Splitter.
P.S. I think this is the 10,000th post on this forum *woot*

Yea, I know that the name is ATI, but the functionality is what I want. I'll be disappointed if they didn't break out the multimonitor support.

I meant, nvidia is more focused on physx, 3d and cuda to try and match the ati feature, but we can hope.
