Without a doubt in my mind the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula motherboard is a force to be reckoned with. Performance is king, and the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula easily takes the crown today! For the most part performance across the board was above and beyond that of either of the AMD 890GX chipset boards that were compared today...

Think it should be noted that one of the most common complaints on the ASUS forum page for the board was a lack of contact between the heatsink and the 890FX northbridge chip causing high NB temperatures.

Cannot say if the issue was even addressed by ASUS' quality control department. The solution was either rma'ing the board or voiding the warranty by removing the heatsink and reseating it so that propper contact was made. I have to say that I have run into this issue on more than one occasion putting builds together. One instance, received a board that after removing the heatsink, was saddened to see that absolutely no contact between the heatsink and the chip was made; the yellow waxy, thermal compound was in pristine condition.

Personally love the board. The review showed the commitment ASUS is giving the ROG series. The issue is minor but someone who is unaware of the issue may think that the board is malfunctioning or that a bios adjustment or rework would be needed.
