4 gts 450 vs 2 gts 560 ti
4 gts 450 vs 2 gts 560 ti
I was gonna buy 4 gts 450s. I ended up buying 2 gts 560s....not sure how bright of an idea that was? I do have room for 1 more card in that pc so I can add another 560. I think my PPD/$ ratio just went out the window though. Guess I will let you folks know thursday or Friday as to how much of a blunder it was. I think 4 gts 450 would have been good for 40,000 ish PPD...2 gts 560s is about 30,000+ PPD.....or so I am reading anyway. Anyway...if I add the other 560 I should be good for about 60,000 PPD. If I threw everything in my house at it I could crack 100K...but I just can't see me doing that. My I7 is not gonna fold this time and the other video cards in my house are gonna get this session off.

I think you made the right call.
Re: 4 gts 450 vs 2 gts 560 ti
I have 2 GTX 560s installed and folding. Both have a 6805 WUs and both are getting 16,000 PPd give or take 100.

I am putting 4 MSI gtx 560s twin frozrs in 1 box....I don't know if this is gonna work. The middle cards might cook to death. I have 2 on a triple sli board and they are using the top and bottom slot. The bottom one is 63c and the top one is 70c. Anybody have any thoughts on this....water cooling is not an option.

I would only get worried if temps get over 85C. That's just me. What is your GPU fan speed on each card. I would not run the cards that are running at 100% fan speed for more than a few hours.
Edit: I looked up the max temp in C. it is: Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 99 C

So what is your fan speed for each card?
Re: 4 gts 450 vs 2 gts 560 ti
Botton card is 80%, the top one is 90%

yea, I would be concerned. Maybe take off the side panel of your computer case for more air flow. Running 24/7 at 90% fan speed I think would shorten the lifespan of the Graphic Card. I'm no expert though.
Edit: the 560's do not exit all the hot air out of the case. That is why I went with the 570's.

I think the four GTS 450 would have been a better buy, because they output I believe around 11k PPD stock (or it could be overclocked). But with two GTX 560 Ti, your gaming performance is absolutely out of this world haha

I have been moving fans around, looking for the best setup to cool the 4 560s...so the fans are not screwed down yet. I have been wondering how hot was to hot with these cards...my hottest card right now is 72-73c. Last night one of the fans came loose and fel down . Two of the cards were in the low 80s c and one was 86c. Don't know when the fan fell...but at least I know that there is room for overclocking now. All 4 cards are now at 950 core, 1900 shaders. hottest card is now 75c.
