5 dollar ATM Fees!
I was watching CNN and they said that banks were testing out 5 dollar ATM fees! Is this a joke or are we about to get ripped off?
Re: 5 dollar ATM Fees!
Even for ATMs that belong to the bank that your card is under? I'd never use an ATM ever again.
Re: 5 dollar ATM Fees!
Funny, they used ATM's originally as a way to save money and not pay customer service reps (aka tellers). Banks are vultures and I worked for one for several years and they are the cheapest bastards in the world.

LOL, same thing I was thinking. Houston is known for their strip clubs. I was at a high-end one a few years ago for a bachelor party and the fee was $30. I can't remember if it was The Gentlemen's Club or Treasures.bubba wrote:ATM's in strip clubs and casino's have $20+ ATM fees...
On topic I don't use ATMs right now because of this. I use a credit union and they have one location in Houston so every ATM I use wants to charge me. The icing on the cake is the fact I get hit with the ATM fee then my CU hits me for another fee. Might as well grab me by my feet and shake me to see what comes out of my pockets.

I use a small local bank. There are only 4 branches, even going to one the branch offices (other than the one I got my account at) I get hit with a "foreign atm fee" its 0.50 cents, but it adds up. If I use another bank, not only is it $3.00 for the that bank, its another $1.50 from my bank. Some gas station ATMs are pushing $4
If I'm out of cash-in-hand and need it I find a Walgreens, they are everywhere, buy a pack of gum or bottle of water/soda and get cash back. Its cheaper.... for now.
Most the time anymore I keep $40~50 on me for the week, when its gone its gone.
