Today we are taking a look at the first offering to the CPU cooling world from the folks at NZXT. Their first cooler is the Havik 140. The Havik 140 is sporting a new fan design and a new fin design. Join us as we put the Havik on our Intel Core i7-930 test system and see how it performs against more than a dozen other CPU coolers on the same system!
Overall, the Havik 140 from NZXT is a very nice first offering. With the MSRP of $74.99 it's not to out of the question for most enthusiasts, but enough competition at that price range they will think about the purchase. It will be interesting to see where the price lands once the Havik 140 gets into the wild and places like Newegg start to carry it.
I like the looks, and am also interested to see where the pricepoint ends up once it hits newegg. I was surprised that the temps were that good after turning considering that GTS450 video card had to be blocking airflow.
Thanks Shane for the review, you guys take all the guesswork out of wondering which is best for individual needs and prices. This one as is is a bit pricey for me, but who knows? NZXT will come out with some budget cooling I'm sure, but for now they had to take the plunge and go "all in", not bad for their debut into cooling.
I have come to the conclusion that "FaceBook" should be renamed "FacePalm"
If you did happen to notice an increase in temps when stressing the card you could switch the fan direction so it blows down on the back of the card.
But with a board with a standard socket layout where the locking lever runs up/down rather than the left/right on the Intel board I have, I doubt you would have to turn the cooler.

Just a heads up... NZXT isn't happy with the performance numbers from this review and have actually asked for the heatsink back so they can check it out. We obliged and are sending the sample back to them.
The temps seems a bit higher than what we’ve tested. Do you think we could get the sample back to us, we can send you a shipping label.
