Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB DDR3 1600 Memory Kit Review

The Kingston HyperX Genesis series memory kit is considered the middle of the road when it comes to the HyperX brand line. We take an 8GB DDR3 1600MHz memory kit and thought we'd see how this very common kit performs. This dual-channel HyperX Genesis memory kit is Intel XMP-Certified, comes with grey heat spreaders and runs at a low latency timing of 9-9-9-27 at 1.65V. Find out how it performs and overclocks in our review!

At this price, with Kingston's reliability track record and lifetime warranty, we feel this RAM would be a good purchase for any enthusiast rig. Not much to complain about when a $40 products works as advertised, overclocks to the next common memory clock frequency and is backed by a lifetime warranty.

It's amazing how cheap RAM is now. The first machine I ever built myself was a P4 Northwood with DDR. I poured over reviews for every component I used in that build. I finally settled on Corsair XMS DDR 400 (DDR 333 was just JEDEC certified). I bought 1 stick of 512MB of Corsair XMS RAM for the low price of around $150.

Yeah...

Prices are so low and they are all pretty much the same thing with different heat spreaders. Back in 2003-2005 they were a blast to review as there were some serious differences.

I've installed this kits twice, and in a matter of fact its all the ram you need. Spend the extra 100€ in the graphic card :D
