Re: GELID Solutions Darkforce PC Case Review
DARKFORCE was a great first entry from Gelid Solutions. I they are able to continue to make a quality product for such a young company. Any questions about the PC Case I'll be happy to answer.

Re: GELID Solutions Darkforce PC Case Review
Do you know how many inches of spacing is behind the motherboard tray? Some readers on Facebook are asking.
Re: GELID Solutions Darkforce PC Case Review
Gelid Solutions states that a fan up to 15mm thick can be placed behind the Motherboard CPU cut out. I will confirm this today on another reply to the thread.
Re: GELID Solutions Darkforce PC Case Review
Confirmed 15mm or just under 5/8 of an inch.
Re: GELID Solutions Darkforce PC Case Review
If you look closely at the interior of the Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, you will find it is exactly the same chassis. Even the top and bottom are the same. Only the side panels and cabling look different.
(Note the mounting holes for the built in 3-pin power modules)... I wonder where I can get those modules?

Hi! I do see the similarities. but I have to say that the CoolerMaster that you mentioned seems very close to the Corsair Carbide 400 as well. It actually has some charcteristics from others that I have reviewed as well.
The CoolerMaster HAF series does seem to have a very similar front bezel to the Gelid Solutions. IMO things seems to start getting different after that. Maybe that is just Gelid Solution putting their touch on the PC case. Below you can see for yourself.

I'll take a guess and say it's kind of like the auto industry where certain part suppliers will distribute the same parts to diffent companies.

Re: GELID Solutions Darkforce PC Case Review
With tooling costs being close to six figures or well over that for some cases it is very common that some chassis by different companies will be the same. This being GELIDS first case, it is highly likely that it is a clone of an existing chassis.

Thanks Apoptosis, that does make sense.
I'd still like to know where to get those built in 3-pin power modules.

Contact Gelid and say you have the case and broke them... Maybe they'll sell you a replacement part.Reno wrote:Thanks Apoptosis, that does make sense.
