Welcome to the forums!

Upgrading from LGA775 to LGA1155 would be a nice improvement! The only downside to your upgrade plans are this. I recently did this and love the faster processor and chipset improvements like SATA III & USB 3.0.

Intel LGA1155 is at the end of the road. Ivy Bridge is the last new architecture for LGA1155. Intel Haswell processors are coming in 2013 along with the LGA1150 socket and Z87 chipset. You might be looking at an April-May 2013 launch for the new boards and processors, which is a still pretty far off.

If you don't want to wait that long and are okay with just Ivy Bridge as an upgrade path for your Sandy Bridge processor, then go full steam ahead with the LGA1155 setup!

Welcome to the forums and hope to see you around!

Hi and welcome!

I'd get a better monitor to make the new setup even more enjoyable!
