JVC MOBILE ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTS EXPAND SMARTPHONE CAPABILITY WITH BLUETOOTH® IN 2013 IN-DASH PRODUCT CATEGORIES
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2013 -- JVC Mobile Entertainment, a leading developer and manufacturer of sophisticated mobile, audio, and video products, today introduced a new 2013 lineup that integrates Bluetooth® connectivity to provide a wireless connection to a wide range of their Bluetooth® enabled products.
JVC has simplified the Bluetooth® phone pairing process using Simple Secure Pairing technology, allowing pairing for up to five phones. Standard features of built-in Bluetooth® receivers include: phone book access/phone book transfer, hands-free calling, audio streaming with remote control and text message receipt notification. CD, DMR and Multimedia receivers feature voice recognition dialing while CD and DMR receivers have the potential for two phones to be connected full-time.
Three new AV multi-media receivers, two Digital Media Receivers, seven Single-DIN CD, and three double-DIN Receivers also feature built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology. All other receivers in Multimedia, CD, and DMR lineups are Ready for Bluetooth® using an optional KS-BTA100 adapter.
2013 JVC BUILT-IN BLUETOOTH® HEAD UNITS
2013 Navigation receivers offer Built-In Bluetooth® technology through a Serial Port Profile (SPP) with wireless control for iHeartRadio, Pandora® Internet Radio, and NaviBridge apps on Android devices. On-screen display of album artwork, artist, title, and station information, as well as full control functionality for iHeartRadio and Pandora Internet radio are available through the head unit display.
New 2013 Multimedia and MirrorLink receivers will also feature built-in Bluetooth® connectivity. Head units are now available to wirelessly control Pandora Internet Radio on Android devices and now include a voice-dialing key on-screen, and manual echo cancellation with microphone level adjustments.
Using Bluetooth’s SPP Profile, CD Receivers and Digital Media Receivers with built-in Bluetooth® connectivity are now compatible for applications such as Pandora® Internet Radio on Android phones. Users can operate most of Pandora’s key features from the receiver such as thumb up, thumb down, skip, and favorite station selection. Song and artist display are also shown on the receiver’s LCD screen. Additional new Bluetooth® features let users dial out by recent call activity for received, missed or outgoing calls. Manual echo-cancelling settings provide for better audio performance and help create a more natural conversation setting. Voice recognition features for smart phone users are further enhanced with automatic detection through Bluetooth® capabilities. Bluetooth® connection also connects the smartphone to the CD receiver at all times to provide users with the option to store dialed numbers using the six key presets on the head unit. Two separate phones can also be paired simultaneously so that driver as well as a passenger will be able make as well as receive hands-free calls distinguished by different flashes of color and ringtones.
JVC Smart Music Control is a free download, which can be used with new built-In Bluetooth® 2013 CD and DMR receivers. Android users will be able to use their smartphone as a head unit remote control with 12 different gesture commands or use the same commands through stereo voice controls. With just a touch of a button or a simple voice command, the user is able to change EQ settings, read out text messages over the speakers, post or tweet preset messages on Facebook and Twitter, search music by name, change tracks using voice control through the Bluetooth® Microphone as well as select songs by Mood through the Android phone.
The KS-BTA100 Bluetooth® add-on module continues this year and is connectable through the AUX-IN terminal on new and continuing Bluetooth® Ready receivers. The adapter adds hands-free calling, voice dialing (depending on cell phone), audio streaming with play/pause, fast forward, and rewind commands, as well as built-in echo cancellation. It is available at a Best Value of $79.95.
