Gigabyte Shows Off Upcoming Intel Z87 Motherboards

Gigabyte recently invited Legit Reviews to come out and take a look at some of their upcoming Intel Z87 motherboards and that is an offer that we could not resist. Gigabyte has roughly 30 Intel 7 series motherboards and expects to have about the same number of boards for the Intel 8 series. Gigabyte expects to have around 15 boards at launch, which is too many for any one site to cover. Today we'll be covering a handful of their upcoming Intel Z87 motherboards and going over some of the key features of those boards.

Gigabyte has a couple of the boards I'm looking at for my Haswell upgrade....

UD7 TH
UD5 TH

Or maybe G1 Sniper M5

Hard to decide if I want to worry about having a Thunderbolt option just in case :) If I skip Thunderbolt, the M5 might be perfect...depending on how many internal USB 3 connections :) lol

I agree the UD4H and UD5H boards look nice. I will go out on a limb and say I very much dislike 30-40MM chipset fans. They clog up with dust and die then you're scrambling to find a replacement that will work. That said I try to avoid active cooling on chipsets.

Yea, last one that I had that one I think I immediately bought a couple of extra's to have on hand...either they don't do much at all, or they tend to be loud...

I have the GA-Z87N-WIFI motherboard from that article, however, I find the reported idle "System" temperature to be rather high at 52C!? My CPU temp is low at "only" 26C (the HDD, SSD and GPU temps are comparably low), yet the system temp does seem unnaturally high?

Does this motherboard just run hot?

What temps have others experienced?

Any idea where is the "System" temp sensor on this board?
