d'oh! that was really close to my original guess. oh well.
sweetness
that thing runs pretty warm... but, then again, it's an intel chip ;)
EDIT: i just realized that those are all different cpus in the picture... not a photoshop job

I look forward to part 2.....Apoptosis wrote:yup the 9 CPU's pictured above will be in part two. I have over 100 hours of benchmarking done already and am waiting on getting some more X2's to test before I post the article.
Since your waiting for the X2's to arrive, have a and relax a bit
sounds like you need it....LOLApoptosis wrote: I have over 100 hours of benchmarking done already....

On page #3 is this true?

I have a person that is stating they are not the same.
The 955EE HS is on the left and the 840EE HS is on the right on this picture:The Intel 840 and Intel 955 both came with identical cooling solutions, so we thought we would take a look at both of the processors on our test bed.

I hope that FX60 article didn't include the 955ee part 2 as i was hoping to see some overclocking results at stable speeds.
Imean who would shell out $1000 dollars on a cpu if there not going to take advantage of the full potencial of this very exciteing cpu .
I believe 4.7 on liquided should offer a stable platform .
The fx60 i think maybe ????? 3.0 stable might be possiable in that case INTEL wins.

Many times such speeds are required to save time if you make money off your PC time is money.DeusEx wrote:that is a really powerful chip right there, but what applications would demand such speeds ?
Also there are lots of people out their that want only the best available and the fact is this is the first cpu since the 3.2c that can actually put intel back at the front of the performance field . Even though an O/C is required to achieve this. Isay thats ok.
Why do I say this is ok to o/c a cpu to claim best performance.
If gpu companys allow their partners to O/C their gpu's and sell them to attain more performance and it's viewed as legit. Than I see no reason PC venders cann't do the same with their PC's
If there is something wrong with my logic feel free to point it out . But at the same time tell me why its ok for video card vendors to O/C and thats considered legit. Here is an example of the potencial of the 955EE. So I see no reason Stable 4.7ghz 955EE is not possiable

I know what Dothan can do . I believe Yonah is even stronger but right now the parts just aren't out there yet to prove it out . But soon .
2006 should be the best hardware year ever. Exspiecialy for Intel and ATI / Conroe Intel / R580 R600 ATI / Blue ray / HD-DVD / LED backlights for LCD'S / Ya its going to be a great year for curtain vendors no doubts about it.

Why does Intel not ship the copper core with the 900 series single core .pointreyes wrote:On page #3 is this true? The 955EE HS is on the left and the 840EE HS is on the right on this picture:The Intel 840 and Intel 955 both came with identical cooling solutions, so we thought we would take a look at both of the processors on our test bed.
