that heatsink looks like you cant put anything else in any other slots, cheap though(for DX10)

id be affraid of slicing my fingers off installing that thing, its pretty gnarly looking.

Also does anyone know when the NDA lifts for these new NV parts? Im anxious to see some benchmarks.

Why did nvidia had the lame idea

of changing the Memory Interface: 256-bit to just 128-bit

that's a majour BUT in performance... or I'm rong?

I am still hoping their will be the 8600Ultra with the 256-bit controller but its high doubtful.

Ok, I've read the first ATI vs Nvidia 8600 GTS F2F and.... ATI won...

Even the "oldie" 7900GS is faster than the new

128bit 8600

Very good article

but I also read another one where the OS was Vista x64 and there the SOAG 8600 didn't hade the same dificulty to beat X1950Pro, not by much, (in some games)... but in the end, counts made, X1950Pro was best... of course that this is a DX9 card but there aren't many games using DX10 now a days... so in my opinion is best to have a good and less $$$ DX9 card (or double in SLI or CF) then a less good DX10 and more $$$ card...

correct me if im wrong but isnt comparing the 8600GTS to the 7900GS kind of not fair? As ive read it the 8600 GTS is supposed to be a notch above the 8600GT which is supposed to replace the 7600GT. The 7900GS is a whole different animal. Also id like to think ATI's current best offering could beat the new mid range NV offering, if it couldn't then AMD would be in bigger trouble then I thought! lol. BTW im referring to the legionhardware.com article not Nate's succulent morsel for our Techie palettes that is the 8600 article.

The 8600 chips are to expensive, i reader put 50$more and buy a 8800GTS with 320MB than an 8600GTS.

hey thats what i am thinking, i think you can find 8800 320mb on newegg with rebates for under $250. seems like that would be the way to go if you must have dx10.
