Tight CL4 Timings On DDR3 Memory Is Possible!

Tight CL4 Timings On DDR3 Memory Is Possible!

When LR first looked at various DDR3 memory modules back in July they were running 1333MHz and had timings that ranged from 7-7-7-20 to 9-9-9-24, which didn't sound too impressive to enthusiasts. We were recently testing some new memory kits from Corsair Memory and was able to reach 4-4-4-12 timings at 1333MHz and even higher! The days of saying DDR3 can't do tight timings are long gone.

Using the full retail version of Crysis it was nice to see performance scale with the memory bandwidth. At 1350MHz the move from CL7 to CL4 memory timings improved performance by just over 7 frames per second. Just like the other benchmarks the pair of Corsair CM3X1024-1800C7DIN memory modules turned in the best performance numbers at their rated speed of 1800MHz with CL7 timings.

Next time you decide to criticize others, make sure you are perfect. Three misspelled words in one sentence.

Seriously though, we don't get excited about pointing out each others mistakes. Hopefully, POINT TAKEN.
