CES 2008: Alienware Curved Seamless Display

To kick off our 2008 International CES coverage, Alienware has showcased a Curved Seamless Display! Sporting a resolution of 2880 x 900 with a .02ms refresh rate, this display is geared primarily towards gamers. Read on to see what we know about this monster monitor!
With a resolution of 2880 x 900, this beast of a monitor will not disappoint! In talking with Alienware at the event, we were informed that the Curved Seemless Display (CSD) has a refresh rate of .02ms which they claim is an order of magnitude better than the competition!

Gimmie gimmie gimmie! I would almost replace my 30" Dell for that, I just have to wonder how it would be to use within windows.

would it distort the image? and hmm wait for 2nd gen this one is too fat

It wouldn't distort the image, there would not be much vertical space since it's only 900px tall. Cutting 124px off of the 1280x1024 screen I'm using now at work would mean lots of scrolling to read web pages, documents, and viewing photos. It doesn't look like it's set up to rotate either. Clearly this is something you'd buy and sacrifice usability for the sake of gaming bliss.

Get two and stack them on top of each other :P

If this were as thin as regular LCD's, it'd be the sexiest thing ever.

Too big though, they need to make an LCD version that is as thin. Then I think they will fly off the shelves. At this size though they may break the shelves. How heavy is it?

Too bad it doesn't have 5760x1080p. Give two 8800gt cards a real workout.

they are probably playing crysis with 25fps on medium with 3 ultras lol
