Just those 3 screen shots made my laptop cry

Looks sharp though. Looking forward to the new bench scenes.

If they make this into a game I'd buy it just to watch the pretty slideshow.

evolutionary... not revolutionary ;)

3dmark06 is obviously dated, so Vantage will be a great addition to our video card testing!

That will be a great looking game. I just need a certain video card to make it some thing like that a remote possibility on my system.

I'll leave the use of this software to the review sites. Simply put, I don't enjoy watching a pretty "slide show". If this suite contained software that would help me "optimize" the gaming performance of my system, then it would make more sense to purchase it. Then again it's hard to make a "silk purse" out of a "sow's ears", and I'm running Vista... ](*,)

Now those screenshots like sweet. This'll probably bring down any machine to its knees.

im not sure if you know what the point of this software is. its a benchmark. its not inteded to be a "pretty slide show" its a tool to compare your system to others, and (if your like me  ) pwn their noob asses :supz: and btw, unless they change this from all of their other software, its free

MY god, it looks awesome. I guess it's quite demanding with the hardware.

I love benchmarks, but it is more interesting when your system has the gusto to get a decent score. The screens so far look great...I want more.

Well, I am counting on it being just like all their previous software. Which has always run rather poorly on my system, when it's first released. See I don't even try to run a truly "cutting-edge" PC. I can't afford that. I mean look at my sig - now I'd love to have a QX9650 CPU in there. But I consider myself lucky to have a 2.4GHz Quad Core. And while my motherboard has 2 PCIE 2.0 slots, I can't really afford one HD 3870, let alone two of them. I couldn't have bought that 8800 GTS/640 if I hadn't been working 60-84hr work weeks last summer. (Truthfully that motherboard was an emergency purchase for which I got help, or I couldn't have afforded it either.)

The result, of all this, is that Vantage will be great for those of you who are concerned about bragging rights. Even though it doesn't really reflect the performance of most current games. And that points to another aspect of 3DMark that I find less than satisfying. I'd rather "play a game" well, than I would "run a benchmark" superbly. Now if Futuremark can build a game that is optimized for more modest systems, then I might be interested. Otherwise, like someone else here commented, I'll just steal their high resolution screenshots to make a wallpaper.

The scene looks like it is going to be intense. I can't wait to see it in all it's computer killing glory.

Also, like others have stated, when games start looking this good, i will be in heaven
