Apple Mice Recieve Much Needed Upgrade

Post by Apoptosis »

Apple has unveiled a new mouse that has a 360-degree scroll wheel and four programmable buttons.
The Mighty Mouse's scroll ball is designed to let people scroll vertically, horizontally and even diagonally, the company said Tuesday. The scroll feature is suitable for viewing Web pages and photographs, as well as editing video and creating music, the company said.

Apple notes also that while the device has multibutton functionality, it can also work as a single-button mouse.

Two of the buttons are actually programmable touch sensors. People can click the upper right or left side of the mouse to access features like menus in Mac OS X and other applications.

I think its kinda cool but i do wish the scroll ball was slighly larger.

I'd agree - but i'd MUCH prefer a "right-click"-able button :?

EDIT: Just checked the Apple.com page...looks like it DOES in fact offer 2-button functionality, just that the mouse is COMPLETELY solid-state. Tha's actually pretty slick...not sure if peeps can actually get used to the lack of an audible/tactile "CLICK" from their pointing device.

I dig on the idea of the solid-state trackball...I'm sure using similar technology to the iPod's scroll wheel. :)

dammit apple.... you put out such sweet shite, but you have the worst mice ever... and you charge a billion gillion dollars for them.... wtf?

only cool thing is the right-click/left-click sensors... but i'm afraid of a malfunction.

and what's up with the clit on the mouse?

verdict = still a gay mouse.

the end.

EDIT: nevermind about the billion gillion dollars thing... it's only $49. way better than those old glass-dildo, mono-button mice apple had for $62...

new verdict = meh, i'll wait for reviews to see if the sensors malfunction
