With that many RS232 ports looks like a great power saving option for whatever they are using (still)
You won't believe me when i say some still use embedded Athlons or worse, embedded Northwoods

I have the N300 ... And my cable management is beyond level 99. :ANAL:
I just don't see why cable management stinks in this case

Re: DefenderPad Review: Protecting You Laptop Radiation

Now I have no problem as this thing as a heat shield, and wouldn't mind something like that to be honest. But is there really that much 'radiaton' emmited from laptops that they can make it a viable selling point and then charge $90 for it?! Just a ploy to make tech-idiots fall for something like t...

Re: Corsair Carbide 300R Mid-Tower Case Review

I always loved the TaiChi side panel...take out a thumbscrew and the side panel would swing open from the hydraulic lifter :) You know, I forgot about that case. I built a system for a friend in a Tai Chi and I really thought that was an interesting setup. HUGE case, but it was awesome as heck. And...

Re: Corsair Carbide Air 540 ATX Cube Case Review

I don't mean to offend you but ... Do ya understand what's forced convection? Only one exists at a given time unless the intake fan is so weak there isn't much CFM. Sorry mate, computers are built mainly around forced convection ... If they are truly making use of natural convection then we'll be a...

Those fans are actually 23.5dB. I do not recommend putting noctuas on that ... Putting 5 blue HDDs (because greens are bad for RAID) would heat up to 45C if you try a noctua in that thing

Re: Corsair Carbide Air 540 ATX Cube Case Review

But if forced convection is done against the natural convection, then that is work wasted. Installing a fan doesn't void natural convection. If two work together, then maximum efficiency is gained. I don't mean to offend you but ... Do ya understand what's forced convection? Only one exists at a gi...

As for comparing it to the original version, that's something I hadn't considered. It's a good suggestion for model updates like this one.
Hot air that isn't forced ... that is.

Every case review i've seen here goes "We all know that hot air rises ..."
Heat doesn't rise. Air goes where you push it. Heat only rises in natural convection not forced convection as we're doing in computers

You might want to edit your cooling statements there. Heat doesn't rise. Air goes where you push it. Heat only rises in natural convection not forced convection as we're doing in computers This might be a case i want but sadly ... 2-bay drive area instead of 3 bay (I use that for a 120mm fan in that...

Is it worth it? Nah. Surely anyone who bought THAT board would not even care about a 3W idle power drop   But since when is it worth it? ... My Nehalem Xeon L5520 goes into C6 drawing ... 0.8W on 12V2 :snakeman: Sure my EX58-UD5 mobo is not exactly power efficient but it stands =D>

The VRAM not clocking down ... unless the VRAM is actually heatsinked as well, nah. Won't increase temps unless it is.
On the other hand, it's Powercolor's fault for it not clocking down.

Very good, but i still think 7970 (1GHz+) is better value for 1440p/1600p.
3GB for 399$ and definitely OCs better due to unlocked voltage
I'll still say it though. Finally Nvidia did it

Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 2GB OC Edition Video Card Review

When it comes to noise levels the Sapphire HD7970 Dual-X OC 1GB was the quietest of the bunch at idle, but once the core is under full load you see the pair of fans spin up to over 2000 RPM and the card starts to get audible. The Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 OC 2GB runs hotter, but it's actually a 2-3dB...

92-96C? holly crap! To me anything over 70C is totally unacceptable! It would be nice to know if removing the IHS is fairly safe (I would think so), otherwise this processor is pure crap because of the temp! BTW a die shrink should bring temp decrease, not increase! Fairly safe. If you know how to ...
