DISH is also cheaper, and since I'm single and have a house payment money is a big concern. Nate, If you have any friends that have dish network they can give you a club di...

Well, the one I bought for my sister works nicely, and it was $1,346 or something like that. And the parts are even a little cheaper now. It was: MSI MS-1029 AMD Turion 64 MT-37 768 mb ram 60 or 40 gb hard drive (don't remember  ) and the MSI bluetooth wireless card I built it myself (s...

Looking for new laptop recomendations
I have a friend that is getting ready to purchase her first laptop. She will be doing some traveling as she is just now finishing culinary school. I don't think she will have an interest in gaming on her laptop. Though I think she is just looking for a very well rounded laptop. She would like to kee...

Ok maybe I am a total idiot, but what white wires are you talking about? remove all the power connectors from ALL the drives, then remove all the cable from the drives and the MB. Hook an ide cable into the PRIMARY ide port on the motherboard, then hook into the hard drive. Plug the power cable bac...

All in all this is what I did. I took the two towers laid them on their side. The were both Optiplex gxa's. Since I was going to take the power supply from my old optiplex that I was no longer using. I figured I'd also put the extra memory in it and replace their old cd rom drive with the cd burner ...

sounds like you fried the power supply... I've done the same thing messing with case fans with the PC running and arched a wire on the case frying the power supply. Hope it uses a standard PSU. Apoptosis, Well the thing is the pc is still powering up. The slower/older sony cd burner drive lights up...

Power Supply
Title: My major screw up with trying to fix a power supply issue My parents have an old dell optiplex gxa and they called me telling me that the pc kept going out. So I figured it was the power supply. Now I've installed memory, cd/dvd drives, etc. However I've never installed a power supply. Well I...
