Nah thats the thing... I have the zalman gpu fan at 3500 rpm all the time 100 percent... My problem is that, even at idle temps of 50 or 48... the core still freezes when it hits 65 C.... it freezes at 63-65 C at 580 or above, but... when it gets as hot as 70 C at 577 everything stays stable and fin...

Well, my lovely x1800xl gets me 9050 in 3dmark 05 with a mild overclock of 577 on the core (1.125 V) and 738/1476 on the memory (2.225 V). It's all dandy and stable... BUT When I up the voltage to try and get above 577, the comp freezes while doing 3D of any sort. Is there some process (besides ATI ...

I bought the fatal1ty version of the all copper zalman cooler, only because it runs at 3500 rpm opposed to the cheaper one's 2800 rpm... I personally despise paying extra money for the name, but it is actually better performing. Old IDLE temps with the stock x1800xl--- 62-63C (OCed) New IDLE temps w...

hey dragon... this should help you out. The x1800xl ships with three memory types... 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 ns. I guess I got lucky with the 1.4 ns. 1.4--- 1400 mhz rating 1.6----1200 mhz rating 2.0----1000 mhz rating You must have gotten the 2,0 ns somehow. Its up to the board manufacturers as to which i...

Yea, the cooler is stock and there are no fans blowing on it. Its a shuttle case with very good airflow, however, and heat doesnt ever pose problematic issues. The voltage on my core is, from stock 1.075..... 1.125 The voltage on my mem, from stock 1.889.... 2.250 (however I had it stable at 1494 at...

A lil update... I got my core to 575 stable and my memory to 1476 comepletely stable at stable volts... and... I broke 9k in 05.... i know its not all about benches and stuff, but 2000 points increase in that app is pretty substantial... It kinda parallels my FEAR performance at stock as well... 39 ...

You guys are awesome. I have managed to break 577 on the core and 1500 on the memory! Its couldn't do that before and now it seems to be broken in or something? Is that normal? I know thats how my 25 percent overclocked cpu began... Idk, I keep tryin new things and keep gettin higher and higher. Two...

Thank you, I really appreciate it...
I'll do whatever I can for whomever, as well.
I wish I wasnt so poor, else I could buy parts that give me the performance I'm trying to eke out of these parts....
Thanks again guys, have a happy new year.

I understand that, but I'm sayin, running that 3D test in atitool doesn't cause any increased temps over stock volts. Sorry, thats what I meant. Also, I didn't want to have to face that sad possibility. I was just hopin I'd have another 75 mhz in that core. I've seen ppl hit 650 and 680 on air at 1....

Idle I'm at around 52, but at full load it creeps up to 72-73... the highest I've seen is 75 on that card. Heat doesn't seem to be the problem, though. I know that with the zalman cooler I'd hit 55-60 at full load, but I need confirmation that the cooler would let me get to 600 on the core at least,...

And yes, I may be considering aftermarket cooling. I'm just kinda scared at the prospect of ripping apart 350 bucks... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118117 Looks nice, but somehow I doubt it would help with my problem... Well, I have a big problem. In ATITOOL, whenever I up the voltage past 1.125, without any frequency increase, my apps lock up. I cant go to 1.2 or 1.3 whatsoever. Is this just a touchy core? At 1.100V, its can get up to 565 and no higher... my memory at stock volts goes to 1400 mHz. I just don't get...
