Back for a birthday bash! 9 years makes 2002 look like last week. Time has gone by like a jack-rabbit.

Re: in like a flood --- Nashville

Thanks everyone! :) NewEgg has a large distribution center here in Nashville. I'm not sure how it fared. The UPS and FedEx regional hubs are both on the north-west corridor of the 155 highway and US-431. So, deliveries are still going out. Local TV news interviewed a guy who moved here a few years b...

in like a flood --- Nashville

Downtown Nashville is under water. 48 feet is the flood stage level now and rising. 12 feet is the norm. Power is out, food is sparse, roads washed away, it looks like a war zone. AND fuel is sold out everywhere. Lowes and Home Depot are out of generators and pumps. So many neighborhoods underwater ...

Re: too much spam in the forum contest

I for one didn't join the contest because it was already showing a dozen pages. My son who shares the same home IP wireless didn't join either. When the rules relaxed, it was amazing to see how fast that thread climbed. Well with the admins keeping watch, I'm looking forward to see how the...

Re: Vista Issues

My wife's Toshiba does this with any printer drivers loaded onto Vista. After three weeks, Vista no longer recognizes there are printers. I have to un-install and then re-install the printer drivers for her. It's a real pain on her machine.

Re: LifeSaver Bottle

PUR makes something very similar called the SCOUT. It's for hikers and campers that fits nicely in the backpack. If you found any type of water, it would filter it to drinking a state. One part of it is the hand pump and the other the drinking bottle. I had gotten mine at Dicks Sporting Goods. PUR S...

Re: Site Milestone Just Happened

This has been my staple review site since systemcooling.com went offline for good a few years back. Nate has been tried and true in the review waters for many years. I've taken the honest reviews here and have made wiser purchases because of them.

Great work to Nate and his crew.

Seems that the storage part is the big cost overall. One would hope that you pick a format to store in that would last longer than 8-tracks or Beta video. :P

Re: Looking For Kid Friendly Blocklist/Software

OpenDNS has worked for us for a few years now. It was good in the beginning, but sometimes a bad sight may get through. Now, it's been a rare occurrence that one does get through. Things have gotten better with their filtering.

As your posts states, you had been waiting for that package to arrive. Look for another one due to your place early in the week. \:D/ It may help you with another question or two. Glad to see a monster storage array is being built. 10 years ago, I thought having a few drives to make 1.5T was a a mar...

You get what you pay for .... as the saying goes. If any of those selected components have the ability for upgrading later, it may be a good choice. Sometimes, buying a complete system like an Acer low end gaming machine is a better bet. hmmmm but buying and ACER means i ve to buy HDD case PSU moni...
