keep in mind guys, the Winbond RAM supply is drying up at about the same time this fast new Samsung chip hits the market. I wouldn't expect prices to move much just due to the new Samsung RAM. ...but of course if RAM prices across the whole industry move then XMS prices would probably follow the ind...

Nathan Kirsch compared the new Samsung TCCD parts to the old Winbond BH-5 and concluded they're about equal in performance at 3200, but the Samsung is the winner since it overclocks much better and supports good latencies at PC4000. BH-6 is not as fast as BH-5, but that won't matter in a month becau...

well, i've travelled to Europe and Asia each at least a dozen times in the last 10 years. I was in England on 9/11/01. And I'm telling you most common europeans don't like America now because of our foreign policy under Bush. We had no international support going into Iraq. We never found a big weap...

I can't explain it. wierd. i don't think JEDEC has different levels of membership, but i'm sure they have different sub-commities. they're either not a member, or they're a very new member that's not listed yet.

JEDECgate

The bottom paragraph of OCZ's press releases says they're a member of JEDEC, the memory standards organization. But OCZ is not listed in JEDEC's membership list here: http://www.jedec.org/service_members/New_Members/memberco.cfm I guess I could put on my personal website that "Maestro is a memb...

seems like half the cars on the road in US are really huge SUV's. I don't know why they're in fashion. the Prius hybrid gets 3x the gas mileage of an SUV, and is a very good car. my next car will definitely be a hybrid. federal govt should offer some incentives for people to buy hybrids, and maybe w...

Capper, no other president I can remember has made a bigger disaster of foreign relations, or done less to improve the economy. And probably no other republican president has ever been as challenged at balancing the budget. after 9/11 the USA had the sympathy of virtually every country on earth. but...

OCZ published their press release a few hours after Corsair. hahahaha! Is this a trend or what? Seems like they're always trying to copy Corsair.

these look like pretty mean modules. if they do as well as I expect them to in the first round of tests I'll definitely spring for a set.

Damn Apo, how'd you get these before they even announced it? Looks like Corsair doesn't mess around.

The unnamed system builder will never materialize (if the 600MHz modules ever do). All the gaming OEMs use Corsair RAM.

Huh?? a very good marketing team at OCZ? according to who? if the product won't be out for another six months why not wait six months to publish the press release and announce it when you really have something? Or why don't we all just file OCZ press releases away for six months before reading them?...

yeah drex, i remember the big OCZ "lasering" scandal a few months ago that was propagated by Wesley Fink himself. It was a coverup for the exposee that they didn't really own a fab. That's when I first decided Fink was either a total idiot or on the take. Since that doofus story he's follo...

I think not! EB is a joke. OCZ's white paper sounds real technical--in fact it sounds almost too technical, like they packed in as much technical jargon as they possibly could into a 1 page document to confuse anyone with an engineering degree. In any case, what they're talking about in their white ...

What exactly is ULN2? and what is EB Enhanced Bandwidth? Are these new technologies endorsed by Intel, Samsung, Micron, Asus or any of the big boys? Are they even real? OR are they products of OCZ's overly creative PR drones? The only endorsements I can find on ULN2 and EB is from Wesley Fink on Ana...

Vaporware that is not available anywhere. if it ever does start shipping there will be no way to confirm that it works at 600MHz since there are no motherboards that can work at that speed.
