New Build suggestions

Hi there everyone. My original build is from 2006 and it's way past time for a new rig! I will need everything but a new monitor, mouse & keyboard. I'm still happy with my 21" Samsung, and my logitec gaming keyboard and mouse. :) So my budget is around $1,200.00, but I can possibly squeeze ...

Re: New 120gb PS3 (?)

If you're not in a major rush, and you can wait until June, Sony is set to have their DualShock3 controllers, and they'll have a system bundle with an 80GB PS3 (monster folding rig included  ), a DualShock3, and Metal Gear Solid 4 for $500, not too shabby considering the BD player and $60 ...

Re: New 120gb PS3 (?)

Any new news with this? I want to buy a PS3, but I don't want the 40 Gig vareity. BC is a BIG issue with me as my PS2 died and I have about 40 games that are good for coasters as they are now. Thoughts? Links?

Re: Vista prices are falling...

I'm surprised, Vista prices were in line with XP prices for the most part, and I wouldn't see why MS would have much motivation for a price drop. I don't really get why people always use Vista Ultimate to point out how expensive the OS is, businesses are going to be using Enterprise or Business, an...

I'm not surprised. They are still a bit pricey on the Ultimate version: $319.00.

Good enough?

Re: Help! (please)

Ok everyone. I took the chance to talk to my daughter last night. It was a great talk. While we were "geeking out" watching the lunar eclipse, I told here about the site that I saw and she said that she saw some bad stuff on there and did not click it. I told her that was good. I also told...

Help! (please)

Ok, Background: I have a daughter that likes this website Gaia.com I thought it was harmless, but she left a page up of videos and I was shocked. She is 13 and this type of stuff I have deemed inappropriate for her. I can't be there all the time, so I need a solution that runs on autopilot i...

Re: AMD processor that can rival Intel now?

Great stuff. Especially Joel. Thanks so much for the input. To answer your question: No, I do not HAVE to upgrade right now, but I wanted to know if it was A) a good time to do so and B) If you guys thought I might need to do so w/ a sweet spot price/performace processor that might be out there that...

Re: AMD processor that can rival Intel now?

So I'll have to upgrade RAM as well???? DANG IT! :) I like my RAM. hehe Oh well, I might as well gut my pc and start over. I'm still going to stick w/ XP for at least 2 more years until Vista is a bit more stable. Do you guys think I should seriously look at getting 4 gigs of RAM? If so, what kind a...

Re: AMD processor that can rival Intel now?

Thanks. That was what I had heard. Yes, it is socket 939. I think it's discontinued right? So, looks like a motherboard will be in the works as well. And here I was thinking that my motherboard would be upgradable! Of course I have had it since April 06, so I should not complain. I'll keep l...

AMD processor that can rival Intel now?

Hey everyone! I hope all is well. I have a question: What AMD processor should I look at buying in order to upgrade, OR should I wait on a newer cooler version that is coming down the pipe? I have not had the time to research where things stand w/ AMD as of late, and want to upgrade from my San Dieg...
