Re: NVIDIA Ion mini-ITX System Build Guide

Wow, talk about clueless in the article (as in 0%) when it comes to video playback of .mkv and CPU usage. First you should have included info about the codec used, bitrate of video (very important), resolution, encoding parameter (e.g. ref frames and cabac) and which decoder was used. Just mentionin...

Re: Is AMD Really a Sinking Ship? AMD Phenom Is Around The Bend

Since when did LegitReview become a personal blog/rant? I don't care whether it's pro-Intel, pro-AMD or neutral. A blog is a blog and should be kept as a blog (in a blogging section maybe?) This is not on, you should this better Nate. :( I still regard Legit Reviews as one of my favourite site and w...

I find it hard to believe NICs can get any better than server quality such as my 3Com 3C996-T PCI-X in terms of latency.

Is 6ms really that slow?

I appologize for my comments earlier. At first it came to me it was biased because several AMD fanboy blog sites claimed your article showing "up to 20% improvement over Socket 939". After carefully reading through the review and realizing it's a pure S-AM2 comparison with zero S939 involv...

I don't know what the author was trying to convey, but it certainly was one of the most biased review I've seen even if it was done unintentionally.

I recommend everyone to use WaterWetter. Not for its superior heat transfer over other additives, but for it's distinctive smell.

It smells like vomit and I've been using it for 2yrs...

The higher you go, the lower it has to be.

A good yard stick is when your system becomes unstable when a certain temperature is reached at a particular clock speed.

Funny how case manufactures copy each other's case. First it was TJ-06 which P-180 copied and improved on it. Then it was V1000/2000's turn to copy P-180 and made even futher improvement with aluminium. Now TJ-07 has copied V1000! :) Meh, I'm still pretty happy with my Xclio FullTower serving my arr...

I suppose I can still extract some money from my Compaq SA532 and the two 18GB Cheetah X15 that's on it.

Welcome!

BTW, you'd be able to extract A HECK LOT MORE performance just by putting in ~$40 more into mobo(selling current, buying new) to get your something like EPoX 9NPA+ SLI/Ultra.
Asus A8N5X is seriously shocking for a system like yours...

You sure your 3200LL is not rated 2-3-2-6 instead? Or have you got one of those really really early 3200LL with 2-2-2-5 on BH-5s? Motherboards are fairly cheap nowdays you can just get another one and sell the old for a decent price. Plus the benefit of able to extract more performance through overc...

At least they have PCI-X which is something I need. PCIe SCSI RAID card still too expensive for me.
Now if only they made dual AM2 or dual S939 as well that'll be sweeeeet.
Too bad the good'ol low-budget dual SocketA days are over.

Re: Athlon4400 vs. Opteron175

The objective with Opteron(UP) S939 dual-core here is to break(or reach) that 3.0Ghz barrier which is impossed on nearly every Ahtlon X2 with standard sub-zero cooling.

Currently the Opteron(UP) 170 has the best chance of breaking that 3.0Ghz barrier relatively-lesser cooling.

Unless you prefer playing around with the boot.ini file which ToMKaT has instructed, I suggest you find an old unused HDD to play it on and totally isolating it from your main boot HDD.

Oh, whoops! Didn't saw the DFI SLI board you have there with the nasty card overhanging problem. :(

On the DFI-Street forum most people seem to recommend Evercool VC-RE from JabTech as alternative to the mag-lift stock fan.
The fan shouldn't be any louder than the fan in your PSU.
