Re: Lapping Guide
This seems kinda riskay...And will deff void your warranty.
You could however get out more impurities with some rubbing and polishing compund then clean it off with a little bit of alcohol. It will never be perfect however.

Re: quad or dual?!
Ive been told that the Quads are seen as a dual by the games anyway because it doesnt use all 4. So I would stick with Dual...besides it OC's better and usually is a better performance / price ratio.
But Ive been out of the loop for 6 months...

Re: DVD RW drive doesn't read dvds, not recognized by XP Pro?
If your really willin to go the extra mile go buy a SATA card for cheap. and grab a 20X SATA DVD RW drive offa newegg. They are around the same price and really reliable compared to IDE from what ive read.

Question about memory timings: at what point should I relax the memory timings when overclocking? Yes once things get unstable or it does not boot. Some motherboards and memory combinations will not allow loose timings like my DFI Lanparty and my Mushkin Black LVL II. :x I have been told there is n...

The 4-4-4-12 should work on around 2.1V from the little research I did. It seems your mobo is very bad with timings as was my old DFI. If you booger with it enough it should work. Also try investing in the OCZ DDR booster it will tell you the exact voltage right on the stick display. You can fine tu...

Alright thanks. for the input. I will have enough for a fully customized Alienware. And I do realize the risk you say of having a gaming laptop with the RAID hard drives. I guess i never really thought about those small square boxes that much. I just didnt think they were as capable as the full size...

Gaming laptop
What would be best for gaming? I mean I know Alienware, Acer, and Dell XPS are the best (that i know of) for gaming laptops. Do you think alienware is just overrated? because I was thinking of decking one out after i get in the Army and being able to pay for one. Get RAID 0 and SLI in a notebook, or...
