Re: Headlight Lens Restorer Kit - Heatsink Polish Test
I've used plain toothpaste on headlight lenses and it works to remove the fogginess as well... but is an extreme PITA to use as it takes a long time. had me wishing I had polishing wheels for my dremel.

Re: NASTY MALWARE!!! BEWARE!!!
One word.. Avast two words... doesn't matter. I use Avast and got this (though a different name) 2x. Once was from a legitimate website, the other time uncertain. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is the only cure for it, aside from reinstalling Windows. Edit: after reading the entire thread, I see that I ...

Re: Corsair Memory Designs Enthusiast ATX Case
it looks like the case has many of the mods my 900 is getting in the next few weeks. Makes me wonder if Corsair found my to do list, as I've currently misplaced it. Hmmmm? I like the fact that they are making the face out of aluminum, and not plastic like the Antecs. I like the looks of the window a...

Re: In debate about upgrades
I'm in a similar quandary. I REALLY want an i7 for my gaming rig/test bench, but I can't justify the expense (with my wife). Fortunately, after a few hours of beating his head against the desk, Bwall was able to pull my lowly E8400 from 3.0Ghz to 3.8Ghz stable where I wasn't able to get any overcloc...

Re: Newegg shipping change?
yeah, it's a nightmare. I had the same problem on a small package (microSD card) and I know some of my buddies have had problems as well. My order shipped DHL from Memphis, TN to somewhere KY just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio where it sat for 3 days. From there to Kansas City, KS where it was handed ...

Re: Post Your Rig!
Ace... why not just use a VNC program, such as TightVNC http://www.tightvnc.com/ and you can control your old computer via remote desktop. I have it installed on every computer in my house and control them all from my daily driver. Tuck the kb/mouse away in case you need to direct control the comput...

I have the same problem with Excel. If I don't shut down Folding before I launch Excel, the entire world screeches to a halt and usually blue screens my machine.

Palit, AMD, Corsair, ECS system Folds work unit 1000
Just happened to be looking through the log files on my Folding rigs and noticed that as of 2 hours ago, the system built from the parts donated by Palit, AMD, Corsair and ECS has folded it's 1000th Work Unit in current configuration. This unit has been Folding almost non-stop from the time I receie...

Re: how to get rid of aim junk pest?
www.meebo.com web based chat client with NO downloads at all. I've been using it for about a year. File transfer is a bit flaky, but I don't really file transfer much while using chat anyway... that's what FTP is for. my Meebo consists of 2 (sometimes 3) AIM, 1 yahoo, 1 ICQ, 1 MSN. I've noticed that...

Blu-Ray Drives... anyone using this one?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136133 Was looking at Newegg earlier today and found this drive. I like the fact that it's a combo drive, for both HD and Blu-Ray, though I don't own any of either right now, I would probably snag a few HD's if I find them cheap. Has to be bla...

Re: 4830 folding
I've never tested an 8600gt... but the Folding performance on the HD 4830 is a bit lacking. I would guess the 8600GT would be better in Folding.
