2600K vs i7 920
Here is my 2600K @ 4.6 and my i7 @3.82. Right now I am doing a clock for clock test...both @ 3.8. Should have an answer on thursday. To be fair the 920 does have 2 275 gtxs on it. If memory serves...it was good for the mid 20s without the cards ...maybe 26,000 PPD.

Just put in a quad 635. It runs at 90% and I gained 20,000 PPD on those units. Anyone wanna but a AMD Athlon II X2 250 dual core?

Re: Quad GPU issue...?
Eh hem..... Question was "how much of a CPU do I need for quad GPU folding?" Answer from Skier "find a board with 4 PCIe slots and you can run it, cards can't fold in SLI anyway so you just add in dummy plug 'monitors' so they each have an independent work load as for CPU doesn't real...

Quad GPU issue...?
My quad GTX 560 rig has hit a snag. It is now working on 912 and 925 point units WU#s 11260, 11261, 10958. I have a dual core amd 250...I think 3.0+ ghz...and on these work units I am CPU bottlenecked. If I dissable one of the cards my PPD goes up 4000-5000 per card. Do I need another upgrade or is ...

GTX 560 thoughts
I have purchased 6 GTX 560 video cards in the last couple weeks. 4 MSI Twin Frozr OC 880/1760 and 2 Gigabyte OC 900/1800 cards. If you are into overclocking at all...get the MSI cards. I have 4 of running in a quad settup (folding@home) and they all run @950/1900 and a happy as clams. The Gigabyte n...

As much as I would like to catch you in 5.5 years...lol. You must have downloaded the wrong version. I have Win7 64 and no problems. You need the 6.34 on this page http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther . I don't know what else to suggest. The only way I could repeat your problem was d...

Re: New parts
The 2600k is folding away @ 4.6 ghz. It is working on wu 2686 and getting 33-34,000 PPD. Don't know if that is good or other for that wu. Temps are around 64c.

Packaging gone goofy
I must admit, I'm not much for the green movement. But...I just did a bunch of upgrading of computers in the last couple of weeks. 2 motherboards, 6 video cards, 2 HDs, 8 fans, 2 CPUs, yada..yada. I get in the video cards....and the packaging is just nuts. The boxes are BIGGER than the 2 motherboard...
