Display Corruption on SK8N

Hey, I have a friend with a SK8N, FX51, 9800P and a gig of...ram, lol. Anyways, I noticed when he rebooted yesterday there were like...white-looking scanlines coming vertically down his screen as it showed the bootscreen during POST...I asked him about it and he said it happens sometimes, but very r...

I swear i just checked for the new drivers the other day...still had 4.7 on the page. Bah, ill have to download and update these later, hehe. Hopefully, I'll see some performance increases on the HL2 benchmark and the source beta, I'm getting about 27.04+ FPS at 1024x768 4xAA 8xAF on the benchmark. ...

That's kinda true, i own a 9600 pro but I had the beta a week or so earlier because I was given a press pass, the ati cards do extremely well on the Source engine -- with a 128bit 128mb 9600 pro at stock speeds (and rest of comp at stock) i achieved 42 fps (was a problem initially forcing vsync on e...

Well, it works...but because of the double entries in the shell, it tries to open the notepad that isn't there by default...instead of opening the correct one.

How could I delete the shell entry?

Reinstalling components (something like that)

OK, to make a long story short I wanted to tryout Notepad+ and after figuring out there were about three copies to replace on XP so it wouldn't overwrite it, I got it working. I eventually ended up using Wordpad and starting to love the RTF format (started writing more and the rich text just made th...

I got tired of waiting for the day to end, so the other day I activated it just in case I would have to be offline for activation when the day was over. Although cool the first time, I didn't want to go through with the WPA hotline again.

My southern accent gets pwnd by that hotline, takes too long.

That's what I'm sayin, but I can't download the entire thing (again). I originally did that and well, it didn't work right. The only time I'll need to swap hd is if I buy another 80gb like this to put in raid1+0 and then, ill put this old one back in my old computer. I hear once you do it once, you ...

Without turning this into something other than what I meant for it to be, I would like to comment on Ghost. Great...or was. The truth of the matter is, what I did was set it to ghost my C drive and when it rebooted it stuck on the program in dos. A few minutes later I hit an arrow key and it said Sy...

All I need is to know if I have forgotten to do anything that's important, before activating Windows XP.

WPA: The Final Stretch

So I have made it. I have survived 27 days into Windows XP after an odd issue concerning partitions (and the fact Norton Ghost screwed them up, then wanted money to help me). I enabled the on-board LAN on my computer, for this go-through as I will be needing it when I LAN at my friends house, but I ...

I think you mean switchboard, but I don't think that is what the problem is anymore. Come Monday morning, I'm going to have a nice long chat with them. Until then, ttfn.

I only knew DFI for mainly their lan party motherboards, but they weren't 'that' impressive, not over some I saw a few months ago.

That's a very good possibility, but being such a rural area these guys wouldn't know much about that to start with. Example, the phone man came to check out some things after the line was popped during a thunderstorm earlier this summer. He said my modem was fried and should buy a new one. Ignoring ...

There is no ISDN available in my area. Like you said, there is satellite however it is a major pos. I refuse to pay the costs to have that, then 80$ a month for how slow it is compared to the price you could pay for other services and get the same speeds -- besides, I don't want the high latency. Th...

If you live in TN, then I'll have to say the closest is probably Ohio for me, too. This sucks, I guess that's how they're able to give away those machines so carefree, hardly anyone can get a coupon from just "20" stores...I hadn't even heard of a micro center...sounds silly if you ask me~

Question concerning modems

I've been pretty reluctant to post anything, but I'm testing and working with a dial-up modem and I was wondering about some things. I've done research in the past, read a lot and learned a lot however, there are some things that have been thinking about recently and haven't found so much info on so...

After downloading 35MB DX9C when it was officially released, it zips through in less than a second installing -- because I already have the latest of the files in the build I had installed. The file is still old, apparently this may be just because it has mixed files, offical/unofficial who knows, i...

Kerry made a fuss over the purpleheart and when you have superior officers in the chain of command who are quoting off the fact they never even recieved fire and basically Kerry used his weapon wrong and got flak well that's just sad, you can't dismiss this either way. Heh, the people who served on ...
